Is Meta Muse free?
Yes. Meta's Muse FAQ says Muse is free to use with a usage limit, and when you reach it you can either upgrade or wait for the limit to refresh.
How big is the free limit?
Meta does not state it. Several write-ups repeat a figure of about 100 million tokens a week attributed to Mark Zuckerberg, but it is not on Meta's help pages, so treat it as reported rather than official.
Do you need a card on file?
Reviewers including DataCamp report that sign-up asks for a payment method even on the free tier. Meta's help page does not mention it.
Power vs Maximum: what the extra money buys
Both paid plans unlock the same product. The only difference Meta lists is the weekly usage allowance, which goes up with the plan.
Power ($20 a month): 500 million tokens a week
Enough headroom for someone who uses Muse every day for inbox, scheduling and a handful of connected apps.
Maximum ($100 a month): 3 billion tokens a week
Six times the Power allowance for five times the price. It fits long-running background work: research that browses many pages, monitoring, or running a steady stream of tasks for a business.
How to tell which one you need
Start free and watch where you hit the limit. If you run out mid-week doing everyday errands, Power is the fix. If you are running Muse on work that never stops, like prospecting or research, Maximum is the plan built for that.

How Meta makes money on a free agent
Mark Zuckerberg said Muse stays free for a large number of tokens and that Meta expects to earn over time by taking a small fee from transactions, per TechCrunch. Meta also says Muse conversations are not shared with its ad systems.

- Subscribe with your Meta account in the Muse mobile app or at muse.ai.
- Plans renew monthly on the date you bought them, and you can cancel any time.
- You need to be 18 or older (or the age of majority where you live) and in a country where Muse is offered.
- Meta describes Muse and its subscriptions as in limited testing, so availability and benefits can vary.
