Exa is a neural and keyword web search engine built for agents. The Exa connection lets an agent search the web, read the parsed contents of pages, find pages similar to a URL and get answers with citations, all with your own Exa API key. Each call spends credits on the connected Exa account, and superagnt_ charges no data credits for it (Connections).
01
Setup
- Create a key. In Exa open dashboard.exa.ai/api-keys and create an API key.
- Paste it. In the superagnt app open Integrations, pick Exa and paste the key.
superagnt_ stores the key encrypted and sends it to Exa as a bearer token on every call.
02
Things to know
- Every Exa call is a
POSTwith a JSON body. superagnt_ forwards the path and body to Exa's API (https://api.exa.ai) with your key attached. searchandfindSimilartake acontentsobject (text, highlights, summary), so one call can return results together with their contents.getContentstakes a list ofurls. Exa serves pages from its cache and crawls live when a page is not cached;maxAgeHourssets how old a cached page may be.numResultsis at most 100.- A 429 from Exa comes back as
RATE_LIMITED(HTTP 429). The limit is Exa's, on your key: back off and retry.
